WW2 FRENCH MILITARY FACIST YOUTH KNIFE AND SHEATH-GERMAN MAKER JULIUS KREBS
HISTORY
The Vichy regime in France during World War II had its own youth movement, called Chantiers de la Jeunesse (Youth Camps). These camps were established by the regime to instill its values and ideology in young people, particularly in the context of the "National Revolution" the Vichy government was promoting. The movement aimed to create a new generation of French citizens loyal to the regime and its ideals.
ITEM DESCRIPTION
A WW2 French Military Fascist Youth Organisation Knife & sheath. Cast aluminium grip, with cross hatched design to both sides. The14.45cm long steel blade is stamped :KRONENKREBS" Solingen which is the trade name for Carl Julius Krebs who is a famous German knife maker who made daggers for the German Armed Forces during WW2. Black scabbard made of a canvas type material that has seen better days. 1940s made piece being issued to French Military Youth Organisation that were formed as part of the armistice agreement between Nazi Germany and the French Vichy Government.
I have had a few of these knives over the years but this is the first time I have encountered a German made example from the knife maker Julius Krebs making it rare.
