Charles (Chas) Clements was a high end London Retailer of knives from approx. 1890 to the 1970s from my understanding Clements knives were made mostly in Sheffield and he sold a great variety. Perhaps familiar to many who collect military knives his WWI knuckle knives or trench knives were quite popular and those were made by Ibberson of Sheffield. Clements had multiple locations but the number was dramatically reduced by the 1920s.
Dating from around 1890-1910 this bowie knife has a blade length of 175 mm and an overall length of 295 mm which is a good size. Maker marked CHARLES CLEMENTS inside a oval to the ricasso and Forged in london to the back of the blade. Stag handle finished with matching handle pommel and collar. Has its original sheath and belt loop in excellent condition. Blade is bright but could do with a good clean.
