INERT BRITISH ANTI PERS NUMBER 6 MARK 1 "CARROT MINE"
HISTORY
The No6 was first issued in 1948 ,hard to detect due to the small amount of metal parts and designed the "carrot " shape to make it difficult to prod for .Just over 6 " long these mines were made to maim rather than kill with the theory that an injured man needs people to look after him.
ITEM DESCRIPTION
Known as the Carrot mine ,Britain's first post-war A.P mine. This example is an instructional No 6 ,made from clear plastic ,with all the components made from various coloured plastics ,dated 58. This is the first time that I have had one of these types.
