BOER WAR PERIOD BRITISH MEDICAL OFFICERS SWORD, EDWARD VII.
A Royal Army Medical Corps (RAMC) officer's sword (for an Army doctor), from Edward VII's reign (1901-1910), Made by Hobson London. The blade is showing the usual staining in areas due to wear. The blade has patina, which could be brightened with some work, and very nice detailed etching, including the RAMC emblem and motto. The hilt is firm on the tang and still retains a lot of the original gilding, and while the grip is quite good, the whole sword could do with some careful cleaning and care. Complete with original steel scabbard. This is a good entry level sword that could do with a good clean.
