  • WW2 JAPANESE OFFICERS SAMURAI SWORD COMPLETE WITH BELT, HANGERS, TASSEL AND FOUL WEATHER COVER.-SOLD EW505

WW2 JAPANESE OFFICERS SAMURAI SWORD COMPLETE WITH BELT, HANGERS, TASSEL AND FOUL WEATHER COVER.

This sword was an amazing pickup for me, souced locally here in WA it was a WW2 bring back. The family do not wis to be named and I will respect their wishes. The sword was surrendered after the battle of Morotai in New Guinea.

The sword comes complete with the Officers belt that has the rare chain hangers and are hardly seen on the market. it has the original leather scabbard cover and the leather foul weather cover for the handle. The handle has the original Company Officers grade  Brown and Blue tassel still attached The wrap on the handle is also in good condition.

The blade is signed  on the Tang to the swordsmith Tadakatsu who was a WW2 Japanese sword maker There is a painted date of 44 for 1944 in Japanese also on the Tang.

The blade has a really nice Hamon (wavy line) and is still in its original condition since WW2.

Japanese WW2 swords have dramatically risen in price as more collectors come onto the market and existing stocks dry up, the value of the Australian dollar against other world currencies does not help either.

Whilst I have bought and sold many WW2 Japanese swords over the years I have not come across one that is complete with the covers, Tassel and belt with chain hangers just as it was when it was brought back from WW2.
