This WW1 Turkish Officers sword sidearm is one of three Purchased recently from a local collection. These swords are not cut down from original length swords but were made specifically in three different lengths. Research has revealed them in photos of officers at Gallipoli and the Middle East during WW1.
This sword measures approx 550mm in length in its scabbard which is dent free. Grip is made of wood with no chips or cracks. Guard and back-strap is made of brass. Clean blade with a Turkish inscription presumably 'God is Great'. This sword has the rare issued leather belt frog and is the first on I have ever seen.
