A very nice example maker marked on the pin to SCHARPER the reverse has been crudely engraved WS and dated 2/6/1917. The detail to this award is of exceptional quality.
The Navy pilots badge was awarded to German Sea plane pilots and is less common than the German Air Force pilots badge.
