WW1 GERMAN TRENCH/FIGHTING KNIFE with unusual scabbard.
This fighting knife has a very unusual scabbard that I have never seen before. The scabbard has an extra tube on the back that may have been used to contain a tool or thin cleaning rod of some sort. The knife itself is maker marked to 'GOTTLEIB HAMMESFAHR SOLINGEN' to one side of the blade and has the acceptance mark to the other side. Nice bright blade with a nicely blued scabbard.
