WW1 AUSTRALIAN 303 HOOKED QUILLON BAYONET BY LITHGOW DATED 1915
This is the holy grail of Australian issued 303 bayonets, a hooked quillon bayonet made by the Australian arms manufacturer LITHGOW and dated 1915. The bayonet is in excellent condition with a very clean blade showing a couple minor spots, correct markings to both sides of the tang with one side displaying the LITHGOW stamp and date stamp of 1915. The wooden handles are in very good condition with the double broad arrow stamp to both sides. The pommel has the issue number stamp of 23218 or 22218 (a bit hard to define with my old eyes). All the metal bluing to the metal handle parts is 90%. The scabbard is original to the bayonet with the correct tear drop stud with the LITHGOW star just under.
