RARE WW2 GERMAN ARMY M40 HELMET WITH NO DECALS MADE BY QUIST.

This helmet is one for the serious purist WW2 German helmet collector. To give you a short helmet lesson, all german helmet were issued with double service decals on the ealy M36 models that eventually changed to a single service decal issue around about 1940  and then in 1942 no service decals. Every M40 model helmet was issued with with a service decal that was applied at the time of manufacture, this was the case for every German helmet  producer with the exception of the manufacturer Quist who started producing the no decal M42 helmet late in the war after the other manufacturers were producing M42 no decal helmets much earlier. This meant that when the  rules that helmets were not to be issued with decals at the start of 1942 Quist was still producing the M40 helmets but without decals making it an anomaly. This can be confirmed on page 88 of the book titled Germany's COMBAT HELMETS 1933-1945 by Ken Miewiarowicz which is regarded as the Bible of German combat helmets, I have included a image of the page referenced in the images of this listing.
