PATTERN 1853 BRITISH SAWBACK SIDEARM WITH SCABBARD.
This is a really good example of a pattern 1853 sawback sidearm that comes with its original scabbard. The blade is bright and clean and shows little sign of use. Clear issue stamps to both sides of the blade.
The scabbard is in good condition but some of the stitching is coming away at the end of the scabbard as shown in the images.
This sidearm was issued in 1887 to the Middlesex Regiment and shows clear issue stamps to the throat of the scabbard.
This is an impressive weapon.
