CRIMEAN WAR PERIOD 1827 RUSSIAN ARTILLERY SAW BACK SIDE ARM

This pattern 1827 Russian Artillery Side Arm was extensively used during the Crimea war. It is probably the biggest saw back side arm ever produced.

The sword measures 710mm in length in the scabbard with the blade measuring 510mm. The blade is curved with a blood groove to both sides and a clip point. The blade is in excellent condition with issue markings as shown in the images. The handle is made of brass and also has issue markings. The scabbard has brass fittings and is made of wood in leather covering which is also in good condition.

A great Russian sawback weapon from the Crimea period.
