COLLECTION OF MINI 1871 PATTERN DRAGOON HELMETS.
There is some conjecture of the purpose of these smaller size helmets. Some say they are sales-mans samples and others say they were produced as presentation pieces for retiring Army members either way they are great pieces. I estimate they are between a third to half size of an original and in one image I have supplied a full size pickelhaube for comparison of size, please note the pickelhaube shown is not for sale.
They are all made from brass and metal and can be disassembled exactly like the originals. The plumes are horse hair is as the originals. Even the liners and chin scales are as the originals. The helmet plates are for the 4th, 5th and 7th Dragoon Guards.
They are priced at $475 each.
