    CIVIL WAR PERIOD CUTLERY HANDLED GAMBLERS BOWIE KNIFE.

    This style of Bowie knife was made famous during the mid to late 1800's by the gamblers who frequented the bars, saloons and riverboats in the US. Most were made in Sheffield England and exported to the US and were stamped to English makers. Others were made within the US and some were not stamped with the makers name, this example bears no makers stamp. Measuring 320mm (1ft 3/4 inches) overall length in the scabbard with a blade length of 178mm (7 inches) and comes with its original black leather scabbard. Blade presents well however there is some distortion to the polish on one side.
