AUSTRALIAN WW1 WA SOLDIERS NOK MEMORIAL PLAQUE TO MICHAEL DENIS REYNOLDS 51BN.
These plaques were presented to the next of kin of British and Commonwealth soldiers who were killed during WW1. Made of Brass this example is mounted in a period walnut frame and is designed to be mounted on a wall. The plaque is named to Michael Denis Reynolds.
Service number 3109 Private Michael Denis Reynolds joined the 51st Battalion from WA and was sent to France to reinforce 11 Battalion (Bn) which is also a WA Bn which was part of 13 Brigade. He was reported wounded and missing and finally his body was recovered, records show that he died between the 14-16 August 1916. The Bn was heavily involved in the Battle of Moquet Farm during August and September and I am assuming that that is where he was killed. More research is required to complete the details of his story.
