WW2 GERMAN ELVES 'CROSSBOW' HAND SIGNAL FLASHLIGHT.
These WW2 German field flashlights (Feld Taschenlampe) were made by various makers such as Petrix, Daimon, Hassier, Zeiler and Elves which was Swiss made and who continued to make them after WW2. The WW2 issued Elves lights had the crossbow motif on the front of the body whilst the post WW2 had a Swiss cross motif to the front of the body so dont be fooled. Elves is the rarest of the varieties issued during WW2.
This is a WW2 issued example with the crossbow, the light can chage from normal with a choice of Green or Red which is operated by levers on the side. This torch also has a folding hood for use in restricted light areas and map reading in the dark. The on/off switch is at the top. There is no globe or battery present. Painted in German issue dark green colour.
