WW1 US 1912 COLT SQUAD CLEANING KIT
The 1911 colt Squad Cleaning kits were first issued to US troops during WW1, the kit had a wooden insert with the cleaning rods, brush spines and oil bottle and container made of Brass. The Squad Cleaning Kit was updated when WW2 started with the wooden insert being dropped and replaced with steel dividers and the cleaning rods etc being made of metal.
This Squad Cleaning kit is the WW1 issued example and is complete which in itself is a rarity. In the US a complete WW1 Squad Cleaning Kit can fetch up to $900 US and a WW2 Squad Cleaning Kit complete can Fetch around $700 US. These are rarely seen in Australia in a complete condition.
