    WW1 PATTERN 1909 FRENCH OFFICERS CLAMSHELL PISTOL HOLSTER

    This WW1 French pistol holster was made for the standard-issue Modele 1892 revolver which was used by French Army officers was worn on the belt. It is known as the clamshell or the leg of ham holster because of its likeness to both. The Japanese Army also had a similar holster for its Army officers.

    Made from High quality leather with an internal ammo pouch. There are issue stamps on the inside of the holster flap however they are hard to read. The bottom of the holster is open to allow drainage in wet weather condition.

    These holsters are not often seen.
