WW1 BRITISH OFFICERS TRENCH WATCH AND SHRAPNEL COVER BREVET 71263
I do not profess to be an expert on WW1 Officers Trench Watches and have only done a limited amount of research on this one.
The watch, when I got it, did not work however when I removed the watch cover it started working and has not stopped since. The case cover is stamped Brevet 71363 and has a Silver Hallmark stamped 0.925. The movement has 15 jewels and is stamped Swiss Made. The shrapnel cover forms part of the case showing it is not a later addition. The enamel face is in good condition also, all hands are present and attached (working). The watch strap is the original.
What I do know is that WW1 Swiss made Trench Watches are highly desirable and collectable with some fetching $2000 and more. More research is required on this watch. The watch is a text book WW1 Trench Watch.
