WW2 US NAVY MK1 GIANT JACK KNIFE
HISTORY
The US Army Air Forces recognized that a pilot faced grim odds if forced down on land or at sea. Fliers were issued a large folding survival knife with a secondary saw blade specifically designed to fit inside a pocket of the C-1 emergency vest, and it quickly became known as the "Giant Jack" knife. ITEM DESCRIPTION
The knife is unmarked and in good condition, with some sharpening and to the main blade, a bit of finish abrading at the ricasso of the main blade, some scattered excess parkerizing along the left side of the saw blade, There is age wear evident (ALL pictured). Otherwise, the knife is in excellent shape, with no other damage. Most interestingly, it boasts the classic 4 1/2" drop point, liner lock main blade, and sports the traditional 4 11/16" serrated saw blade, both of which retain approximately 70% of the crisp, original parkerized finish, and close with a great "snap".
