WW2 US LEGITIMUS COLLINS & CO MACHETE 1944 NO 1250 AUSTRALIAN ISSUED
This is the rarer shaped blade and most desirable. Nicely marked and dated 1944 blade in good condition which still has the protective paint in places just needs a good clean. No cracks or splits to the handle. Nice leather scabbard in excellent condition, the leather securing strap and stud are in good condition but over time has slightly shrunk and does not fit entirely round the handle. On the back of the scabbard is the makers name and date also of 1944, there is also a Broad Arrow stamp showing that it was issued to Australian troops more than likely for the New Guinea campaign whilst US troops were stationed in Australia.
