WW2 GERMAN COMBAT ENGINEER'S (PIONEER) SAW
The WW2 German Pioneer Saw (Pioniersäge or Stichsäge) was a critical piece of field equipment Issued to the Pioneer troops or combat engineers of the Wehrmacht to clear obstacles, harvest timber and build field fortifications. Officially introduced via military order on June 17, 1935, it replaced the cumbersome early-model hand chainsaws.
This example is a nice used Wehrmacht Combat Engineer Saw (Pioneer) in its original cover with its bayonet attached loop. The saw is nicely maker marked. Part of the wooden handle grips are missing which was a common fault of these saw's. They are considered rare and are hardly ever seen on the market.
