WW2 AUSTRALIAN ISSUE 303 BAYONET
This 303 bayonet was made at the Orange Arsenal small arms factory in New South Wales (NSW). Maker stamped OA to one side of the langet and date stamped 7 (July) and 44 (1944) to the other. Scabbard also dated 44. The wood handle grips are stamped Slaz 44. The scabbard is stamped Mangrovite 44. The bayonet is in nearly unused condition with its blade still retaining the blackening. Top scabbard throat is slightly loose.
