RARE WW1 IMPERIAL GERMAN ERSATZ TRENCH FIGHTING KNIFE
If you are a trench/fighting knife collector you will already know that this trench knife is very rare.
It is the EB2 model and has the pressed steel hilt. Blade is in good condition. Maker marked on the tang to F. KOELLER &CO (one of three known makers) with the imperial crown stamped on the other side of the tang and the cross guard. original scabbard with belt loop still attached. The handle still has its original paint
I have searched the internet trying to find another example for sale to no avail which shows how rare this knife is. This is a text book example of a rare fighting knife that also can be used as a bayonet
