RARE CRIMEA WAR RUSSIAN 1828 FLINTLOCK MUSKET DATED 1843
The Crimean War was a conflict fought from October 1853 to February 1856 by Russia against an alliance of the Ottoman Empire, France, the United Kingdom, and Sardinia. It centered on Russian expansion, religious disputes over holy places, and the balance of power in Europe.

ITEM DESCRIPTION
The Imperial Russian Model 1828 musket was a .69 caliber smoothbore longarm that was frequently updated or found in active service during the Crimean War (1853–1856), though an 1843 date typically reflects this rifle as the last of the Flintlock rifles prior to transition or percussion conversion timelines. Percussion cap rifles were being phased in during the Crimea War however most rifles issued were the flintlock variety.
This example is a Russian Tula Arsenal Model 1828 Flintlock Musket walnut stock with a cartouche on the left butt, brass fittings marked with date 1843, lock plate marked TYAA/1843.The musket is in excellent condition and in full working order overall length 57 inch the barrel 41.5 inch. Comes with its spike bayonet.
The Russian Crimea War period Flintlock rifles are considered very rare as not many survived in good condition at all with most of the remaing being converted to Percussion Cap rifles. Overseas markets see these rifles fetching US$3500-4500 depending on condition.
