PATTERN 08 HOOKED QUILLON BAYONET FOR THE 303 RIFLE AUSTRALIAN ISSUE TO VICTORIA. EW1260

PATTERN 08 HOOKED QUILLON BAYONET FOR THE 303 RIFLE AUSTRALIAN ISSUE TO VICTORIA.

Nice early British made P08 hooked quillon bayonet that was issued to Australian troops during WW1. Maker marked to 'SANDERSON'. Issue date stamp of 12/09 (Dec 1909). Stamped V (Victoria) 6752 to the cross guard. Scabbard has Lithgow issue stamps to the chape and bottom end piece, also the leather is stamped with 'Lithgow 1912' which was its issue date to Victoria. The blade is clean and the bayonet is in great condition for its age. As we all know Australian issued Hooked Quillon bayonets are highly desirable and collectable due to their rarity and connection with  the ANZAC troops who fought on Galilpoli and in France.
