BRITISH 1827 PATTERN VICTORIAN NAVAL OFFICERS SWORD
This word is an early example having a wide pipe back, quill-pointed blade. Brass Lion headed handle with a ray skinh handle in good condition. The bowl of the handle bears fouled anchor under a Queen Victoria Crown in relief. The blade is engraved and showing age spots from use. The cutlers brass label is located at the top of the leather scabbard showing a Portsmouth cutler. The scabbard is in good condition for its age and has brass mounts. the fold down flap has a fault in the hinge and is loose (see images), this could be repaired however it still functions and does not detract from the swords appearance and I tend to leave items the same way as when I got them.
Overall considering its age this is a good example of an 1827 British Naval Officers sword and is Reasonably priced.
