WW2 issued British/Commonwealth Army original army issue Hessian helmet cover in Sand Tan colour for North Africa and Italian campaigns. Official government factory produced.
These are recently purchased Ex-New Zealand Army stores and once they have been sold will no longer be available
Made by 'BCNB Ltd in 1942' this example is well marked on the interior with makers marks. Made from Sand Tan coloured Hessian, this cover is for a MK2 British helmet, which have been held in a museum since the end of the war for display purposes, until recently re-classified as surplus. These particular covers were the only known regulation type hessian covers to be produced and were used mainly by New Zealand troops in the N. Africa and Italian campaigns.
