VIETNAM WAR ERA AUSTRALIAN BRIGADIER'S SLOUCH HAT
Slouch hat that belonged to an Australian Brigadier (name unknown) during the Vietnam War era. WW2 era pugarree with a bullion Queens Crown badge to the front. Later issued Rising Sun badge to the side. Very slight damage to the rim as shown in the images that is consistent with its use and age that does not detract from its appearance.
Liner is in excellent condition and bears the makers stamp of Fairfield Melbourne and is dated 1969 size 6 1/2.
All earlier slouch hats are rising in price with the Vietnam era no exception. During this period the Australian Army only had approximately 40 Brigadiers, today's numbers are in the region of 50. Brigadiers are also reffered to a one star level.
