    HISTORY

The Krim Shield (German: Krimschild) was a World War II German military decoration awarded to Wehrmacht forces who fought on the Crimean Peninsula between 21 September 1941 and 4 July 1942. Instituted by Adolf Hitler on 25 July 1942, it is the most widely distributed of all German campaign arm shields. An estimated 250,000 shields were awarded to personnel across the Army (Heer), Air Force (Luftwaffe), and Navy (Kriegsmarine).
