CASED WW1 GERMAN IRON CROSS FIRST CLASS WITH PROVENANCE, MAKER MARKED AND PACKET OF ISSUE
This is the nicest WW1 German Iron Cross First class that I have come across in years,
The cross comes with its original case and packet of issue that is marked in pencil in the top right hand of the packet to the 118 regiment of the 25th Reserve division that fought in every year of WW. There is research that comes with the Iron Cross. The Iron Cross is in excellent condition and looks to be un-issued still rataing its original silver frosting to the rear and the cross highlights, there is on small chip to the paint just above the 1914 date. The Coke bottle pin retains the makers number stamp of 26 which was issued by the German Army to the maker B.H. Mayer's Kunstpragaenstalt Pforzheim. The original case has the Iron Cross motif to the lid and shows wear to the corners. The interior of the case is silk over a purple felt pad.
Yes its not cheap but it is one of the best examples on the market today.
