ORIGINAL GERMAN CIGARETTE CARD BOOKS 1936 BERLIN OLYMPICS VOLUMES 1 & 2
Hardbound, without dust jacket, German text, 165 pages in Vol 1 and 127 pages in Vol 2, black & white photographs, 1936, published by Cigaretten-Bilderdienst Hamburg-Bahrenfeld. Dark blue fabric covers are embossed in gold with a gold Olympic bell with black eagle holding the five Olympic rings. Albums covers the events of the Winter and Summer Olympics held in Berlin in 1936 (the last Olympics before the beginning of WWII). Features photograph cards of the victors, to include the famous Norwegian figure skater Sonja Henie and the famous black runner from the USA Jessie Owens whom Adolf Hitler disliked immensely due to his colour. Album 1 includes a 33″ fold-out of the Olympics site.
