WW2 GERMAN EARLY SS/SA BELT BUCKLE
Initially the SS was an integral part of the SA under the leadership of Ernst Rohm and wore the early version of the standard SA belt buckle. After Rohm was deposed by Hitler the SS came under control of Heinrich Himmler and was totally separate to the SA. It was then that the SS belt buckle was introduced with the SS ceasing to use the early SA bekt buckle.
This buckle is a two piece early SA/SS version with a brass body and a white metal round plate attached bearing the SA eagle and swastika within a wreath.
