WW2 GERMAN SS SINGLE DECAL M40 HELMET
This SS helmet is probably the best condition one I have had in recent years. Original factory paint and liner, with the size stamp to the liner and a dome stamp to the helmet. The inside of the skirt is stamped EF62 which is the maker code for Emailler-Werke A.G. Fulda size 62. the rear skirt is stamped with the batch number 31439. The paint is the original factory applied paint inside and out. The liner is the correct light coloured pigskin type and has the original shoe string tightener. The rivets that hold the helmet in are tight. The chinstrap is numbered and this chinstrap is heavily faked today. My research shows that original stampings are different to copies and that originals have 13 round holes as this helmet has. This helmet has been used but shows minimal wear. The decal is an ET decal, ET decals were known to be used on EF helmets and this can be confirmed on the website germanhelmetvault.com. the decal does not scratch off the helmet and is snuggly fitted to the surface of the helmet and still retains that silver sheen. The wear to the decal is commensurate with the condition of the paint to the shell. I know SS helmets in this condition in the United States and Europe are commanding much higher prices than I am asking however I am essentially selling to an Australian market and I would rather turn over stock than sit on it for years, so my price is very fair.
