WW2 GERMAN NSDAP BROWN SHIRT ORTSGRUPPE LEVEL

The Nazi party controlled the German civilian population through the NSDAP and through what is known as the Brown Shirts  which was recognised by the colour of its uniforms. It was a complex organisation and its head was Dr Robert Ley.

The Ortsgruppen level was the local level, or small towns controlled by the Ortsgruppenleiter who was often the Mayor. Within the Ortsgruppe there were the Blocks with a Blockleiter as head and the Zellen level (or cells), with a Zellenleiter as head. A typical Block had thirty to forty households in it and above this level the Zellen consisted of four to six blocks.

The Brown shirt tunic top offered to day is of the Ortsguppe level and came with a Armband and matching peak cap which are also for sale in the uniforms and head headgear sections. The tunic top is in good condition with the exception os some minor mothing which is shown in the images. All buttons are original as is the DRL sports badge, tinnie, ribbon bar and party badge. The black tie is not an original.
