WW2 GERMAN M35 LUFTWAFFE DOUBLE DECAL VULKANFIBRE OFFICERS PARADE HELMET
After WW1 the German Army experimented with lightweight helmets made from Vulkanfiber to replace the heavier helmets that were used in WW1. The helmets were trialed and proved to be unpopular and so the steel M35 helmet was introduced. Lightweight Model 35 helmets were made available only to Officers. These helmets were made from Vulkanfiber or aluminum. At that time, the lightweight helmets cost 14.50 Reichsmarks and were only to be worn on parade duties. These helmets are considered very rare.
This example is in excellent condition for its age finished in original Field Grey. First pattern Droop Tail Eagle decal rates 90% and the National Colours Decal at 80%. Original liner is in good condition and is size stamped 56. Previous owners initials of FN painted to the rear inside skirt. original chinstrap present.
This helmet shows very little use and is a good investment for the serious German Helmet collector.
