IMPERIAL GERMANY - Imperial Navy (Kaiserliche Marine): WW1 "Marine" or "Flanders" Veterans’ Cross.
The Cross was instituted in 1921 as an unoffical veterans award.
Just like the majority of the awards of the Weimar Republic, only the
diploma was actually issued.
The Cross and the respective clasps had to be purchased privately
by the recipients.
Only roughly 30.000 Crosses were authorized.
This example has been mounted for wear however the ribbon has come apart over time.
