AUSTRALIAN VINTAGE HANDCUFFS MADE BY LITHGOW SMALL ARMS FACTORY
The Lithgow Small Arms Factory is famous for producing Australian small arms for the Australian Defence Force and at the time was Commonwealth owned. It was opened in 1912 and produced rifles, bayonets, machine guns and all types of items during both world wars. During the depression it branched out to making more commercial items such as these hand cuffs offered here. The factory was sold in 1999 and the name was changed to the Australian Defence Industry (ADI).
These handcuffs come in their original leather case that attached to a belt and still has its key. The cuffs are stamped with the Lithgow Small Arms Factory logo and are numbered 4951 and probably date from the 1950's. These are a rarity for the Australiana collector.
# PLEASE NOTE
I have been informed that some states in Australia have restrictions on ownership of handcuffs. Please check with the authorities in your state that you are allowed to own these handcuffs before purchasing them.
