This Australian issued peak hat was issued in WW1 and WW2 unchanged, in fact the first Australian troops that landed in Gallipoli wore this type of hat. This type of hat has also been called a Drivers Hat. This example is in excellent condition and looks to be hardly worn with the leather edge to the brim and chinstrap still there in good condition. Leather sweatband and interior lining also in good condition. The sweat diamond still in place which shows Made in Australia stampings along with the size 6 7/8 and dated 1943. Normally a Rising Sun hat badge would be placed on the front however this hat has never had one supporting the un-issued theory. You wont get a better one.
