WW2 INDIA BAYONET NO1 MK111 DRILL PURPOSES TO FIT THE 303 RIFLE

    Description

This WWII British Indian-made sword bayonet for the No 1 MkIII Enfield rifle is an example that was not a cut-down Pattern 1907 bayonet, but was purpose made with a 12-inch un-fullered blade in 1944.  The blade shows the markings MKII* RFI (Rifle Factory Isaphore) also date 1944 and DP for drill purpose. The scabbard is also marked DP in two places. This bayonet shows little use with nearly all of the original bluing remaining to the blade.
