WW2 GERMAN M40 CAMO AND CHICKENWIRE HELMET.
This helmet is probably the best example of a WW2 camoflagued German helmet I have seen in many years. Stamped SE66 to the left side inner skirt and batch number on the rear of the skirt. The outside of the helmet has been period coated in rough texture 'Zimmerit' with chicken wire added to hold foliage. Original Liner and chinstrap which is dated 1940. Soldiers name is 'Obergfr Simon' has been painted on the inside rear skirt. This along with other helmets listed on this site were recently purchased from a collector who is getting rid of his collection.
This helmet has not been messed and tampered with since WW2 and examples of these fetch more in the US and UK.
