    WW1 GERMAN TRENCH ARMOUR-COMPLETE SET

    Background

In WW1 The war in Europe became a stalemate of static trench warfare with high losses of soldiers to both sides. The German Army issued Trench body armour and steel brow plates to snipers, machine gun crews and sentries to reduce the losses. The armour was very heavy with a large breast plate which had sections attached to the bottom resembling a lobster. The helmet brow plate was also heavy and fitted over the standard German helmet to utilising the two side lugs and a strap.
