This medal was issued by the Turkish Army during WW1 to Turkish and German troops who served in the Turkish Army and is known as the Gallipoli Star.
The medal was issued in two patterns one to officers which is enamelled and the other to OR,s (other ranks or soldiers) which is painted. The Gallipoli Star offered today is the OR,s painted version which believe it or not is harder to get than the officers version. This star is very clean and despite being worn still retains most of the original paint.
