RARE WW2 US BINOCULARS ISSUED AND MARKED TO THE AUSTRALIAN ARMY BY WOLENSAK.

These US binoculars were purchased by the Australian Army when US troops were stationed in Australia and deployed to New Guinea to fight the Japanese during 1942-43. The binoculars are painted Jungle Green over the standard Black finish to confirm use in the jungle. The binoculars are contained in a special designed canvas cover which is D^D marked and dated 1944 also this confirms the period of issue. The binos are maker marked to the WOLLENSAK company in Rochester New York, they are designated as No2 MKII 6 x 30 magnification. The optics are clear and have the Artillery graduations.

This is the first time that I have come across a pair of these binoculars especially clearly issued to the Australian Army. during the fighting in New Guinea during WW2
