PATTERN 1888 BAYONET CONVERTED TO A FIGHTING KNIFE.
There is a lot of conjecture on these converted bayonets especially the pattern 1888 and the pattern 03. This type it is said was called a Shanghai dagger and there is also reference to this style being made for Commando regiments, however I am not going to enter into debate and will be selling this as a converted bayonet into a fighting knife. Maker marked to Wilkinson with a pattern date of 85 to one side of the blade and issue date of 02 to the other. This has been professionally converted with a matching converted scabbard and comes with a leather riveted Frog.
