IMPERIAL JAPANESE 1886 PATTERN KYU-GUNTO COMPANY GRADE OFFICERS SWORD.
Very nice sword. Ray skin covered handle with wire wrap still present. Brass handle fittings with ornate guard and stippled back strap. Company grade officers knot.
Blade Tang is unsigned but is an old blade and has a very pronounced wavy temper line (Hamon). Copper Habaki with the traditional scratch lines. Blade has one small dark spot as illustrated in the images.
Scabbard is nickel silver plated and has a couple of minor dents that are commensurate with age and do not detract from the appearance.
